At Z. S. Thomas Guitars our instruments are manufactured one at a time, built with great care and attention to detail. We are a small custom shop that employs state of the art technology to ensure every guitar we produce measures up to exacting standards. Every Z. S. Thomas Guitar is built using selective CNC routing.
Selective CNC routing means we use a computer guided router accurate to 1/1000ths of an inch to make critical cuts that affect the quality of your instrument. Neck profile, neck heel, neck pocket, pickup cavities, and bridge locator holes are all cuts made using a CNC router. Less critical, more stylistic features of the guitar are refined using traditional hand carving techniques. In this way we are able to create instruments which are all unique in their own way, yet all the same in their quality of fit and assembly.
At Z. S. Thomas Guitars we combine old-world, small-shop craftsmanship with new-world precision and the accuracy of high-tech machinery. It's this marriage of old and new techniques that creates an instrument of the highest possible caliber.
