Ingenious!
I just happened to come across your pots while looking for ergonomic guitar body styles.
Have these been on the market long?
For coil splitting could I just use a mini toggle?
Also how do you wire up your output jack from the bridge, and what type of jack do you use since you don't have inside access?

I'm just in the midst of making 2 guitars and I thinks I'll be using you pots.(once I get the extra coin, a little more expensive than usual, but looks to be well worth it)

One guitar is a tele style and the other is going to be more of an ergonomic design.
I will probably use a three way switch on the tele but one of you blend pots on the other.(maybe the blend on both)
What might I be looking at for shipping USPS to Ontario Canada. L1N9T7 (2 SETS)

thanks

Rob, These are fairly new to the market. We started selling them after we got patent-pending status in Nov. '09.

For coil splitting I recommend using a Seymour Duncan TS-1 Triple Shot Flat Pickup Mounting. Or swap out the standard Pot Pod pots for push pull pots (they will be very cramped for space though). Using a mini toggle would require some sort of cavity routing to mount it. I suppose you could drill from the back of the instrument and have a couple small access plates the size of quarters.

For the output jack on my guitars I use a Threaded Endpin Jack. However, you can use any kind of standard jack plate without needing inside access. Just drill a hole big enough for the jack to sit inside, drill a smaller hole to fish the wire through, solder the wire to the jack, attach the jack to the plate and fasten the plate to the guitar.

As for shipping to Canada, I can give you free shipping. You might want to think about purchasing some knobs from us as well. The Pot Pods require slightly larger than usual knobs.

Thanks for the reply. I think in a few days or so I will order some but I was wondering. Are the knobs that you use traditional knobs with set screws? Im curious because I want to know if I can make them out of wood myself or if they need to be made to any sort of special specifications. i want an all wood look.

Thanks
Keith

The knobs we use are machined in house with our cnc router. There are no set screws. We used to buy plastic guitar knobs and cut the middle part out, that fits the "coarse knurl" pot shaft, and we would glue that part into our knobs... Now we cut the hole in the back of the knob to match the diameter of the pot shaft, and the knobs press fit onto the shafts.

If you can find the right size drill bit, you can drill a hole in the back of your knob slightly smaller than the pot shaft, and the compression of the split shaft will be enough to hold the knob in place and keep it from stripping... Use a hard wood like ebony or maple.

Our knobs are about 1.2" in diameter... small enough to turn freely when recessed in a 1 1/4" hole. And large enough to hide most of the Pot Pod.
